Daniil Medvedev hits bird on net during US Open, point ordered to be replayed

During his second-round match at the 2026 US Open against Sebastian Gorzny, Russian athlete Daniil Medvedev almost struck one of two birds perched on the net. The chair umpire halted the game and directed that the point be played over. Medvedev challenged the ruling, remarking, "This is the most ridiculous decision I've seen in my life."
