A veteran Congress leader, Anisur Rahman, and his son were reportedly shot to death in the Nadia district of West Bengal on Saturday. Rahman was on his way back home alongside his 24-year-old son when unknown assailants allegedly fired at their vehicle and subsequently assaulted them using sharp weapons. Rahman held positions as a member of the Bengal Congress Committee and served as the general secretary for the Nadia District Congress Committee.
