Chronic medication sales boost Indian pharmaceutical sector
The Indian pharmaceutical industry saw a growth of approximately 12% during July, led by strong performance in treatments for diabetes, heart conditions, and other chronic illnesses. According to Sheetal Sapale from Pharmarack, increased health consciousness and more accessible diagnostic testing are encouraging patients to begin medical care sooner. While the rising demand for GLP-1 medications is also contributing to this trend, Sapale anticipates that the growth rate for these drugs will eventually level off.
