Chris Sutton criticizes Ronaldo's performance during Portugal's World Cup elimination

Ex-England player Chris Sutton held Portugal skipper Cristiano Ronaldo responsible for the team's departure in the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He remarked, "Ronaldo [was] waddling around the field like a grandad." Sutton further stated, "Your centre-forward has to move, he has to contribute, he has to press, [and] have variation in his play and he doesn't...He does absolutely nothing."
