China to release 'Ramayana' with a new title and 33-minute cut
According to reports, the Ranbir Kapoor-led film 'Ramayana' is set to hit Chinese theaters with the title 'Ramayana: The Legend of Prince' to comply with local regulations. A Mid-Day report states that the version prepared for China is 33 minutes shorter than the original Indian cut. An insider noted that China's Film Industry Promotion Law forbids any content that challenges state religious policies or encourages superstition or heresy.
