More than 50,000 people in Chikkamagaluru might be disqualified from the Gruha Jyoti free electricity program after a recent verification process. Authorities discovered several issues, including homes that were empty, residents who had relocated, and domestic power connections being utilized for business activities. Out of the 3.14 lakh domestic electricity meters in the region, officials have successfully checked the records for 2.60 lakh users.
