Chennai Metro to impose ₹2,500 penalty for playing music without headphones
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has issued a directive asking commuters to use earphones when listening to audio or watching videos on trains and at stations. The agency warned that those who do not comply could be fined as much as ₹2,500. This initiative is intended to curb noise levels and ensure a more pleasant travel experience for everyone. The fine also extends to passengers who talk loudly on their phones while on trains or within station areas.
