Central government backs menstrual health initiatives for school-aged girls
The Centre informed the Rajya Sabha that it is assisting states and Union Territories in rolling out menstrual hygiene programs for teenage girls. This initiative focuses on spreading awareness, ensuring access to low-cost sanitary pads, promoting safe disposal methods, and providing guidance on menstrual health. Through the National Health Mission (NHM), states get funding based on their submitted plans, while the government tracks progress and execution through consistent monitoring and evaluations.
