CBI takes two into custody for ₹1.3 crore fraud at Karnataka post office

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended an assistant postmaster and a postman working at the Saragur Post Office in Mysuru. The duo is accused of embezzling ₹1.3 crore from the savings accounts of 44 different customers. According to officials, the pair illicitly used the login details of account holders to move money into their personal bank accounts and those belonging to their family members. Authorities believe the scope of the fraud could be larger, with more accounts potentially compromised.
