A CBI court has cleared Acharya Balkrishna, the general secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth and a key aide to Baba Ramdev, of charges in a 15-year-old legal battle. The case centered on allegations that he secured an Indian passport by submitting falsified educational certificates and other records. The Central Bureau of Investigation launched an inquiry in 2011 after receiving a complaint claiming that Balkrishna was a citizen of Nepal who used fraudulent paperwork to acquire his Indian travel documents.
