Case registered against Dhamaal producers for ₹1.50 crore rights fraud
A police complaint has been lodged against director Indra Kumar and producer Ashok Thakeria of the movie 'Dhamaal' for an alleged fraud of ₹1.50 crore involving a Mumbai-based distributor. Vikas Baldevraj Sahni, who owns the distribution company, stated that he had paid the amount to secure the permanent worldwide and digital rights for the film. He further alleged that the filmmakers went on to sell the lifetime digital rights of the movie to Shemaroo Entertainment in 2015.
