CAG reports ₹3,541 crore overspending in Maharashtra's Ladki Bahin scheme
The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has pointed out major flaws in how Maharashtra's Ladki Bahin Scheme is being managed financially. Auditors discovered that the Women and Child Development Department spent an extra ₹3,541 crore, noting that this expenditure lacked any proper explanation. The Ladki Bahin Scheme provides a monthly payment of ₹1,500 to qualifying women between the ages of 21 and 65.
