Cabinet approves ₹9,450-crore railway expansion to add 410 km of tracks
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given the green light to four railway multitracking initiatives spanning eight districts across Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, and West Bengal. These developments are set to expand the Indian Railways network by approximately 410 km. The projects, costing an estimated ₹9,450 crore, are expected to enhance connectivity for about 6,448 villages and provide benefits to nearly 60 lakh residents.
