The father of Sagar and Saheb Sonkar has stated that his sons are being made to take the fall for the alleged contract killing of Chandranath Rath, who served as an aide to West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari. He also dismissed claims made by the CBI that Sagar had been communicating with a competing political group, identified as the TMC. The brothers, who were previously associated with the TMC before switching to the BJP, had been employed by Rath.
