Bombay High Court orders surprise check of Mantralaya canteen
The Bombay High Court has directed a team of four lawyers to conduct an inspection of the canteen at Mantralaya, the state secretariat. This decision follows a report from the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration, which claimed the facility was 98% compliant with food safety standards, noting that not a single insect had been discovered there. The court responded by stating that if the lawyers they appoint find any issues, they will initiate action against the authorities.
