Bombay HC warns Mumbaikars may soon need portable oxygen due to loss of greenery
The Bombay High Court has cautioned that if Mumbai’s green cover keeps depleting, residents will eventually be forced to carry oxygen cylinders and require oxygen shots every three hours. The court made these remarks while hearing a request from the Maharashtra government seeking permission to remove 847 mangrove trees to facilitate a power transmission line for the bullet train project. Currently, the destruction of mangrove trees is prohibited across Maharashtra.
