BMC slaps ₹22 crore fine on Taj Hotel for 26/11 security barriers
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a notice demanding ₹22 crore from the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai. The charges relate to security barricades placed on nearby roads and sidewalks following the 2008 terror attacks. These barriers were set up to restrict direct entry to the property, and the penalty amount has grown over the years. In response, the hotel's management has requested that these fees be waived.
