BMC officials push for vehicle upgrade, citing back pain from Scorpio cars
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) intends to swap the Mahindra Scorpio-N SUVs currently assigned to six elected officials, such as House Leader Ganesh Khankar, for Toyota Innova Crystas. This upgrade is estimated to cost ₹1.5 crore. According to reports, the officials stated that the Scorpio-N vehicles provided in January 2026 are not comfortable and have resulted in back pain. Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde has backed this request.
