The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has introduced reflective collars featuring QR codes for stray dogs that have undergone vaccination and sterilisation. This move is designed to enhance the tracking and registration process for strays throughout Mumbai. The program is intended to boost the oversight of the stray dog population and assist the city in its mission to eliminate rabies by 2030. Previously, the authorities relied on temporary methods like coloured ink to distinguish vaccinated animals.
