Bitquery co-founder accused of embezzling ₹47.7 crore and destroying records
Crypto company Bitquery has filed a lawsuit against its 57-year-old co-founder, Dionysios “Dean” Karakitsos, alleging he embezzled ₹47.7 crore from the firm. The theft reportedly started in 2022, around the same time investors injected ₹76.3 crore into the business. Karakitsos allegedly misled investors by claiming the company held between ₹47 crore and ₹57 crore, despite the actual balance being just ₹19 crore. Shortly before stepping down in 2025, he is accused of deleting 194 expense entries to cover his tracks.
