Bihar and Jharkhand resolve 26-year Sone River water sharing conflict
On Monday, Bihar and Jharkhand finalized a deal to settle their long-standing 26-year disagreement regarding the distribution of Sone River water. Per the terms of this arrangement, Bihar is set to be allocated 5.75 million acre-feet of water, and Jharkhand will receive 2 million acre-feet. This combined total of 7.75 million acre-feet was initially assigned to the region of undivided Bihar as part of the 1973 Bansagar Agreement.
