Bihar: ₹499 crore rail doubling project to enhance freight movement
Indian Railways has given the green light to a ₹499 crore project to double the 44.4 km Mansi-Saharsa rail line in Bihar, aiming to reduce traffic and streamline operations. This initiative is set to accommodate 24 pairs of passenger trains while boosting freight capacity by 1.764 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The upgrade will improve the logistics of moving essential goods, including cement, fertilizers, and farm produce.
