Berlin government data leaked by Rhysida hackers following rejected €2 million ransom demand
The hacker collective known as 'Rhysida' has published nearly 6TB of confidential information belonging to the Berlin state administration on the dark web. The move follows the city's decision to reject an extortion attempt, where the attackers had demanded a ransom of 30 Bitcoin, valued at approximately €2 million (₹22 crore). The leak includes more than 14 lakh files, containing sensitive details such as personal records, login credentials, and documents related to defense and civil infrastructure.
