Bengaluru residents duped by scammer posing as DCP on Facebook
Cybercriminals set up a fraudulent Facebook profile using the identity of Bengaluru Electronic City DCP M Narayana. They used the page to offer household goods at extremely low prices to deceive potential customers. Reports indicate that about seven individuals were swindled out of amounts ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 each lately. Authorities have filed an FIR and are advising citizens to confirm the legitimacy of online vendors before sending any money.
