Bengaluru marks its second-driest July in 108 years

During the past month, Bengaluru registered only 23 mm of rain, making it the city's second-driest July in 108 years. This is the lowest amount of rainfall for July since 1918, when a record low of 18.5 mm was observed. Despite this, surplus showers during the pre-monsoon season have ensured that the city's cumulative annual rainfall remains in the normal range. IMD experts noted that Bengaluru usually receives between 80 and 100 mm of rain in July.
