Bengaluru authorities to penalize owners of neglected empty sites
The Greater Bengaluru Authority is set to send formal notices to individuals who own poorly maintained vacant land throughout the city. Should these owners neglect to clear their plots, municipal officials will step in to perform the cleanup, subsequently charging the expenses back to the owners via their property tax bills. Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has instructed staff to launch this initiative, mandating that geo-tagged video evidence be recorded both before and after the work to maintain full accountability.
