Bengaluru: 3,200 farmers finally receive plots in Karanth Layout after 18-year delay
The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) has started handing over land to farmers and property owners in the Dr. K. Shivaram Karanth Layout following an 18-year wait. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar distributed the compensation to 3,200 beneficiaries and advised them against selling their newly allotted plots. As part of the compensation package, farmers are being granted 40% of the developed land for every acre they surrendered.
