Bangladeshi farmers abduct 2 Indians to secure release of detained associate
A group of Bangladeshi farmers abducted two Indian farmers from West Bengal and brought them across the border into Bangladesh. According to a report by the Dhaka-based newspaper Prothom Alo, the kidnappers were demanding the release of a fellow farmer who had been taken into custody by the Border Security Force (BSF). The two kidnapped men, Sachin Karmakar and Narayan Deb, have since been returned to the BSF.
