Bangladesh High Court grants bail to Hindu monk Chinmoy Das in two cases
The Bangladesh High Court has approved bail for Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das regarding two out of the four legal cases filed against him. The former ISKCON leader's legal representative stated that the charges involve allegations of vandalism, attempted murder, interfering with official government work, and other related crimes. Das was initially taken into custody in 2024 on sedition charges, an arrest that triggered widespread demonstrations which resulted in the death of a lawyer.
