Bangladesh asks India for explanation regarding Sheikh Hasina's August 5 speech
The Bangladeshi government has requested an explanation from India concerning the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's intention to deliver a virtual speech from New Delhi on August 5. Shama Islam, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, emphasized that Bangladesh hopes this situation will not harm the relationship between the two nations. She stated that individuals considered "fugitives" should not be permitted to utilize Indian soil for political agendas directed at Bangladesh. She further noted that the country is committed to strengthening its ties with India.
