Bangladesh and Russia consider using Indian rupees for trade settlements
Officials from the Economic Relations Division of Bangladesh have stated that a plan to use Indian rupees for trade transactions with Russia is currently being evaluated. As a temporary measure for loan repayments, Bangladesh is presently placing installments into a Sonali Bank account held in Russia's name. Because these payments have not been moved to Russia, the matter of settling these debts remains pending.
