Balochistan has officially proclaimed its independence from Pakistan. The region stated it has "adopted its national anthem 'Ma Chukain Balochani', introduced its national flag...and now exercises control over 85% of territory of Balochistan." A statement released by Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch noted that "the patriotic people of the Republic of Balochistan have rejected Pakistan's external presence."
