Bail rejected for man accused of posing as PMO staff to swindle ₹4 crore

A Delhi court has turned down the bail request of Vijay Gupta, the founder-editor of a news organization from Jammu. He was taken into custody for allegedly pretending to be a government official from the PMO and defrauding individuals of more than ₹4 crore. The presiding judge noted that there is a significant risk that Gupta might influence witnesses, interfere with evidence, or commit similar crimes if he were granted bail. The Enforcement Directorate had apprehended Gupta back in May.
