Backlash follows Mehbooba Mufti's comments on pellet gun usage in Kashmir
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti visited Jantar Mantar and spoke out against the lathi charge and the reported deployment of pellet guns on demonstrators. She remarked, "We have seen this in Kashmir...but there is militancy in Kashmir, 'uska banta hai'...there are militants on one side and security forces on...other." In response, CM Omar Abdullah accused her of endorsing the use of force against the residents of J&K.
