Australian traveler says she narrowly escaped human trafficking in Paris
A woman from Australia has alleged that she was nearly a victim of human trafficking while traveling alone in Paris. Djanaya Hampton recounted that a pair of men came up to her close to the Eiffel Tower and asked her to join them at a party. She became wary after observing them speaking to a street vendor while gesturing toward her. Hampton further stated that when she reached out to the Australian Embassy, she was cautioned against contacting local police, with officials claiming that officers are complicit in such activities "9 out of 10 times."
