Australia and India reach deal for uranium exports
India and Australia have completed the administrative steps required to begin shipping Australian uranium to India. According to a joint announcement, the uranium is intended strictly for peaceful use and will be monitored by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) protocols. Australia holds the biggest uranium deposits globally and has previously sent only one shipment to India, which took place in 2017.
