Assam teen returns from national karate win to find family displaced by floods

Seventeen-year-old Janmoni Konwar from Assam secured a gold medal at the National Karate Championship held in New Delhi. Upon arriving back home, she discovered her family was still residing in a tent. They had been compelled to vacate their house on July 19 because of severe flooding. The floodwaters also resulted in the loss of the family's ducks, fish, and poultry.
