Assam STF nabs man connected to Pakistan's Shahzad Bhatti terror network
The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam, working alongside Hailakandi police, took Fazal Islam into custody due to his reported ties with the Pakistan-based Shahzad Bhatti Network (SBN). This action comes after the STF previously detained three individuals in Barpeta. On August 17, Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the SBN had intended to carry out attacks leading up to Independence Day, but those efforts were successfully blocked by security personnel.
