Assam man with no formal training saves 2,000 flood victims
Shravan, who left school after Class 10, helped evacuate around 2,000 individuals stuck in the recent Sivasagar district floods in Assam. The 25-year-old performed these rescues relying solely on a wooden boat and his familiarity with the area's water routes, lacking both professional training and motorized equipment. Working alongside a group of volunteers, Shravan moved women, children, the elderly, and patients to safety from five different villages affected by the rising waters.
