Assam government distributes ₹160 crore in flood relief to families
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Monday that the state has deposited ₹160 crore directly into the bank accounts of flood-impacted families. Sharing the update on X, Sarma stated that they have transferred the committed interim aid of ₹15,000 to approximately 75,000 of the most severely affected households. He further added that an additional payment of ₹10,000 will be provided to families hit hardest in the Sivasagar and Charaideo districts.
