Assam flood fatalities reach 80; more than 2 lakh people still impacted
According to officials on Friday, the number of lives lost in the Assam floods has risen to 80, with 2.12 lakh residents across eight districts still grappling with the disaster. Charaideo is currently the most severely impacted area, affecting nearly 80,000 individuals, while Sivasagar and Jorhat also report significant numbers, despite a slight improvement in conditions since Wednesday. At present, the authorities are managing 112 relief shelters to support more than 75,000 displaced people.
