Apollo secures $7.7 billion deal to acquire EasyJet following Castlelake exit
Apollo Global reached an agreement on Thursday to purchase the British low-cost carrier EasyJet for £5.70 billion ($7.7 billion). This move follows the decision by private equity firm Castlelake to pull its bid. Under the terms, EasyJet shareholders will receive £7.15 per share ($9.63), which is a 54% increase over the stock's closing value on February 27. Apollo has a history of aviation investments, including stakes in Aeromexico and Atlas Air.
