Anthropic's Claude makes unexpected progress on 167-year-old math puzzle
An unreleased iteration of Anthropic's Claude AI attempted to crack the Riemann Hypothesis, a famous mathematical challenge that has remained unsolved for 167 years and offers a $1 million (approximately ₹9 crore) reward. Although the AI did not fully resolve the problem, it surprisingly managed to increase the established lower bound for zeros that meet the hypothesis criteria, moving it from 41.6% to 67.2%. The model achieved this result by leveraging decades of existing mathematical research.
