ANI has filed an appeal in the Delhi High Court to contest a decision that refused to grant interim relief in its ongoing copyright lawsuit against OpenAI. The hearing is set for September 14. ANI is contesting the July 24 judgment delivered by Justice Amit Bansal, which determined that OpenAI’s use of ANI’s material to train ChatGPT models constitutes fair dealing. In that ruling, the court noted that ANI did not provide sufficient evidence to prove that ChatGPT had duplicated its news reports.
