Ancy Sojan sets new national long jump record despite PCOD diagnosis
Kerala athlete Ancy Sojan has surpassed Anju Bobby George’s national long jump record, which had stood for 22 years. She achieved this feat while dealing with weight gain linked to Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD), a condition she was diagnosed with last year. Reflecting on the struggle, she mentioned, "I started getting joint pain...had low energy. I couldn’t get good output in training." Sojan explained that maintaining her medication and regular menstrual cycles are vital for her to shed weight ahead of the upcoming Asian Games.
