Ancient Syrian infant remains reveal potential 6,000-year-old child abuse case
A recent study suggests that the 6,000-year-old fractured ribs of an infant aged six to nine months discovered in Syria represent one of the earliest documented instances of child abuse. According to study co-author Aleksandra Grzegorska, the evidence indicates the baby was likely a victim of violence caused by a caregiver. She further noted that the child lived for a period following the trauma.
