AI-planned route leaves three hikers stranded on Mount Shasta
Three hikers from California required a rescue mission after using artificial intelligence to map out their journey up the 14,179-foot Mount Shasta. The group failed to finish the climb within the eight-hour timeframe suggested by the AI, forcing them to camp overnight in a rugged drainage zone. Climbing rangers from the US Forest Service eventually reached them the following morning. Additionally, one member of the party sustained an injury to their knee.
