AI has the potential to boost newsroom output, says INMA chief
According to INMA CEO Earl Wilkinson, artificial intelligence can assist news organizations in processing vast amounts of data, enabling them to generate journalism that was previously beyond their reach due to resource constraints. He noted that because print newspapers in India are so affordable, selling digital subscriptions is a challenge, and universal paywalls might not be an effective strategy. Wilkinson suggested that media companies should look into diversifying their income streams through reader payments, hosting events, and e-commerce, rather than relying solely on ad revenue.
