37-year legal dispute over 9 missing bags from Lahore train resolved by HC
A shipment of copper scrap sent from Lahore in 1989 has reached the conclusion of its long legal battle after 37 years. The Punjab and Haryana High Court determined that the insurance company did not provide sufficient evidence to prove the items were lost while in the care of Indian Railways. This case, which involved a cross-border shipment sent prior to the implementation of the Railways Act, continued for decades before the court finally settled the matter.
