32 miners dead, 10 trapped following coal mine explosion in Balochistan, Pakistan

At least 32 workers have died and 10 remain stuck underground after an explosion hit a coal mine near Quetta, the capital of Pakistan's Balochistan province. Authorities believe the blast was caused by a methane gas accumulation. A mine inspector noted that the likelihood of discovering survivors is very low following such incidents, as methane explosions cause oxygen levels to plummet to zero.
